The
Social Tenant Access to Information Requirement Scheme
What is ‘STAIRs’?
The Social Tenant Access to Information Requirement Scheme (STAIRs) is a statutory standard introduced by the UK Government as part of the Transparency, influence and accountability Consumer Standard. STAIRs aims to give social housing residents the information they need to influence the delivery of their housing service and to ensure landlords are transparent and accountable.
Timescales
STAIRs will be introduced in two phases.
Phase 1 – 1st October 2026
This is the Publication Phase. During this time the Harborne Parish Lands Charity (HPLC) will start proactively publishing information through its website.
Phase 2 – 1st April 2027
The charity will start accepting Resident Information Requests. These are formal requests for information which we will respond to within 30 days.
